D.R.S. "Gangsta Lean"

"A lifetime of memories going down the drain
I'd like to keep stepping
But I can't get past the pain"

A lifetime of memories
Going down the drain
I'd like to keep stepping
But I can't get past the pain
I tip my 40 to your memory
Take a drink and I start to think and I
I know one day soon we'll be
We'll be hanging out

Chorus:
This is for my homies
(This is for my homies)
See you when I get there
In that gangsta lean
In that gangsta lean
This is for my homies
(This is for my homies)
See you when I get there
In that gangsta lean In that gangsta lean

Happy Holidays and Blessings!

2015 Here We Come

Santa Claus, go straight to the ghetto
Hitch up your reindeer, uh!
And go straight to the ghetto

Santa Claus, go straight to the ghetto
Fill every stocking you find
The kids are gonna love you so, uh!

Leave a toy for Johnny
Leave a doll for Mary
Leave something pretty for Donnie
And don't forget about Gary

Santa Claus, uh, go straight to the ghetto
Santa Claus, go straight to the ghetto
Tell him James Brown sent you, huh
And go straight to the ghetto

You know that I know what you will see
'Cause that was once me

Hit it! Hit it!
You see mothers
And soul brothers

Santa Claus, go straight to the ghetto
Santa Claus, oh Lord, go straight to the ghetto

Fill every stocking you find
The kids are gonna love you so
Fill every stocking you find
You'll know that they need you so

I'm begging you Santa Claus
Go straight to the ghetto
If anyone wanna know
Tell him Hank Ballard told you so

Santa Claus, go straight to the ghetto
Never thought I'd realize
I'd be singing a song with water in my eyes

Santa Claus, go straight to the ghetto
Don't leave nothing for me
I've had my chance, you see?

Santa Claus, go straight to the ghetto
Santa Claus, the soul brothers need you so
Santa Claus, tell him James Brown sent you

Wale + Jerry Seinfield Part III

Fame, Confusion, and Respect!

After watching this on WSHH I was eager to know if there were more and luckily I found at least two others on YouTube. I  recall Wale going off on Complex Magazine regarding their "50 Best Albums of 2013" article because his album The Gifted was overlooked; I am surprised to see this amazing squash of beef. My hopes are that they will one day turn this into a full on sitcom as it is like the meeting of the greats. Jerry is the King of making shows about nothing turn into a 25 year old influential programs and Wale is the poetic artist that exudes great artistry/creativity while keeping it trill. I have watched all of the Wale and Jerry conversations and every one left me wanting more. Maybe my wish will come true and these two, along with Complex, can create a long standing dope collaboration sitcom so people can stop watching the nonsense on television. LOL

I hope you enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Augu$t Ru$h: "NO HAND-OUTS" Mixtape

Ahhhright
Straight Out The Gutta

SOTG/BlowTheBankEnt's very own, Augu$t Ru$h, dropped NO HAND-OUTS last Thursday and has the streets ready for an album from this young man. NO HAND-OUTS is what he is calling the mixtape before the actual mixtape and if so I don't think any of us will be ready. His newly released mixtape is comprised of 13 tracks and has features from Pyro Traxx, Barnz, Jacene Mills, Pessoz, and Mook Love. A few of my favorite tracks would have to be "Walking Dead","F.I.Y.S", and "Bodega" just to name a few.
Being that I have had the ability to witness Augu$t in action perfecting his craft I am very well assured that this young man is going to go far. Not only does he make great music but he also is a fashion designer, model, writer, and his freestyles will mesmerize you. His mixtape is receiving much love and support online as well as in the streets as you can find him out there providing that work (CD's) while connecting with the people. Augu$t Ru$h is up next and if you haven't familiarized yourself by now I will provide all you need to get in tune LOL.

*** Brief Bio ***
At only 22 years young, Augu$t Ru$h has been taking the streets and internet by storm. After bubbling in his native Yonkers and Mount Vernon Ny, Hitting cypher after cypher, show after show, and underground radio stations from all over the country he's made quite a staple for himself. And old soul trapped with a young man his sound is gritty yet educated and his lyrics are vivid and for the timid a bit graphic which makes it easier to relate to. Take a listen and see what life's like on the SouthSide of the 914

Asher Roth "Pull It"

Asher Roth
RetroHash

Far to the right
Gone to the break of dawn, off for the night
Lost in a vacant lot, parked on a light
Crossed and it's shaking too long or a fight
And all in my might, call her I might
Know that I shouldn’t cause its hard to be nice
Boys gotta pick it when the arguments right
Stars and the stripes, off when a hall make me larger than life
Aw, beep beep, knees deep in a DC
Please need these demons to leave me
Need peace, no reason to repeat
Retreat, it’s easy, just release
Relief, be free, let it go
Fiening a leaf, ain't no need to control
Planting a seed, let me reap what I sow
Defeated the pieces he blow, pow

Music Gives Life : Beyonce "7/11"

I awoke…. and life was given

Shoulders sideways, smack it, smack it in the air
Legs movin' side to side, smack it in the air
Legs movin' side to side, smack you in the air
Shoulders sideways, smack it, smack it in the air
Smack it, smack it in the air
Legs movin' side to side, smack it, smack it in the air
Smack it, smack it in the air

***Not only is this song and production completely off the charts but the visual is crazy. It definitely makes me want to just dance around oh so joyously while in my spray painted panties sipping from a red cup. Beyonce let us in and gave us the business. Every woman can relate to dancing around with her friends, maybe in underwear, while drinking and just having fun. That's what this reminds me of for sure… a hell of a slumber party! ***

In My Feelings, As Usual: Jhene Aiko "Pressure"

It's that moment when your body and your mind are at war with one another. The temptation to want that in which you should refrain from causes havoc on the emotions. The pressure to stay away when you are so drawn toward. Self has no control over the visions of ecstasy and LUST…. So the pressure told me to run away!

"Up till the sun rises
There's no compromising
I know, I know, I know
You are such a liar"

Artist: Jhene Aiko
Album: Souled Out

Sundays Jam: ScHoolBoy Q ft. Kendrick Lamar "Blessed"

"Stay blessed my nigga, blessed my nigga
Really think about it, could be worse my nigga
Don't stress my nigga, yes my nigga
We all blessed my nigga"

After a difficult weekend I needed this for sure. Feeling a little discouraged yet trying to fight through the mistakes I figured life could definitely be a lot worse. In life there will be heartbreak, disappointments, discouragement, darkness and more but they never last forever. We have the ability to cause ourselves to think too much at times when the moment should be executed naturally. Over thinking for me is a sign of insecurity as if you were already as confident in self then you wouldn't second guess that in which should be natural. Most of the time our past has shaped us into who we think we are, want to be, and who our spirit knows we are destined to become. It's time for some mental change over here. Anyway, enjoy another powerful song from ya boy ScHoolboy Q.

Love Day B!

Splizzy Hendrix "808's and Cheesecakes" Mixtape

Blow The Bank Entertainment

Splizzy Hendrix is setting the Bronx, NYC and many other major cities/states on fire with the release of his 6th mixtape 808's and Cheesecakes. From beginning to end this body of work is collectively the best mixtape out right now. As the mind and direction behind the entire Blow The Blank Ent Movement Splizzy has the ability to not only make great music but he also has the gift of freestyling. Verses are filled with substance and hunger, hooks are catchy and well crafted, and the production causes all parts to just comes together as a masterpiece. This mixtape has many hits as I would say they are all hits but a few of my favs are "The Best,"Full Moon","Emotions", and even the "Interlude" is fire. The mixtape has over 900 views as of today and 61 downloads so the people are appreciating this great music. Check out his mixtape on Dat Piff and stay tuned to more from Splizzy Hendrix and the Blow The Bank Camp.

PARTYNEXTDOOR "Thirsty"

"Thirsty, baby bring it over here"

I am slightly embarrassed for the amount of lust that I have for PARTYNEXTDOOR. Not only is he 21 but his music makes you want to party, fall in love, fall out of love, dislike that lover, but still want to be with them. LOL. This singer, songwriter, and producer from Ontario is about to dominate $hit if you ask me. Melodic verses, accompanied by amazing production, and an oh so seductive storyline has me on a PARTYNEXTDOOR binge.  He is signed to Drake's OVO Sound Label and if you ask me he is one great addition to that already epic team. Party released his first mixtape, PARTYNEXTDOOR, in 2013 and his first album was released in July of his year. I have taken a listen to both and I can promise you I am in love completely. SIGHS.  "Thirsty", "Sex On The Beach", and "Recognize" ft. Drake are a few hits from his latest self titled album PARTYNEXTDOORTWO.  Enjoy!

"Need to get it while it's hot cause I'm cold at times
Open up to me and drop your guard, I need the proof
Constantly to know if you still have a heart"- PND

Aaliyah "I Care For You "

Paying Homage

This song is definitely one of my favorites from the beautiful angel Aaliyah. It seems as if all the great artists' leave just short of reaching those plateaus of Greatest Of All Time. She will always be remembered as the Queen of RnB.

Flashback Fridaze: Do Or Die featuring Twista "Po Pimp"

"They peep those, p-i, m-p, and they think that automatically

Cause he's a pimp, he gotta be, full of that
M-o, n-e, but why? "

*** Being from Chicago this is the music that we grew up listening, partying, and vibing to. This was that era where Do Or Die would deliver that smooth flow with intricate bars that told a story. Twista would provide that Tsunami Flow that I was oh so eager to learn so that I could spit it on point. Sighs…. sit back, close your eyes, and allow AK-47, Belo, and Twista to take you to a serene space. Happy Friday… Enjoy!

Quick Bio: Chicago's Do or Die gained a hit with their first single, Po Pimp. Released on a tiny Chicago label, the track became a local hit and sparked the group's signing by Houston's Rap-A-Lot Records. Given a wide release in the summer of 1996, the single hit number 22, increasing the buzz for a full-length from the group. In September of that year, Picture This was released on Rap-A-Lot. Do or Die returned to action in the spring of 1998, releasing their second album, Headz or Tailz. Victory followed two years later. Back 2 the Game (2002) and Pimpin' Ain't Dead (2003) did well in Chicago and on the West Coast, but nationwide the group was being ignored by radio. With R. Kelly, Kanye West, and Twista all making guest appearances, 2005's D.O.D. was an attempt to change this. A year later, Do or Die went in a totally different direction by releasing the hard, street-minded Get That Paper with Bun B the lone guest star. (BVM Underground HipHop/YouTube)

Jam of the Day: Childish Gambino "Telegraph Ave" "Oakland"

In Oakland

I was introduced to this artist's music about 2 years ago by a co-worker and at first I wasn't too excited. After a few more listens and a reading of his many other talents I was then very intrigued. Learning that he was also a writer for the NBC comedy series 30 Rock, as well as an actor, and producer I now had a newfound respect for him as a true Jack of Many Trades. I respect all who have the ambition and determination to master their talents and LIVE pursuing the passions within the soul. Recently, a special friend of mine sent me the link to this video and I fell in love. It features singer Jhene Aiko as the leading lady and Childish Gambino delivers soft melodic tones of lust vs love. You can catch Lloyd "In Oakland" throughout the song as well which provides even more serene vibe. Being that I had no clue Childish Gambino could also sing the combination of him rapping and singing on this song makes my soul slightly joyous. Check out his album Because The Internet for other awesome music. Enjoy! Thanks MJ……

Freestyle's With Flex : Chris Brown

An Artist Is A Jack Of All Trades
Breezy

Chris Brown hit Funk Flex with nothing but bars and crazy flow in this joint. He is definitely a true artist as he continues to exude his many talents. He has already conquered RnB, Pop, Electronic, intricate dance moves, fashion and now he just bodied the art of rap. He may have his mishaps in life as we all have but no one can deny that he is beyond talented. Anyway enough of me blabbering enjoy this video courtesy of YouTube lol.

Jam Of The Day: Rae Sremmurd "No Type

"I Ain't Got No Type…. Bad B*tches Is The Only Thing That I Like"

After hearing their single "No Flex Zone" I wasn't sure if I was listening to teenagers or toddlers but after doing my research I began to slowly come around. Once they dropped the remix of "No Flex Zone" featuring Nicki Minaj I was all ears slightly. I then saw their interview with The Breakfast Club in which I discovered that they were under Mike Will Made it and the name Rae Sremmurd actually came from the label's name Ear Drummers. Very articulate young men who just like to make music that everyone can dance to is what I got and that made me a fan almost. Plus, whatever Mike Will Made It drops is guaranteed to be fire anyway. What actually sold me was finding out that they are from Tupelo, MS as I too myself have lived half my life in Mississippi. I appreciate all people but there is just something about the humility of a southern person. Always humble, alive, and living. So once this "No Type" joint dropped I was all ears. I can't get enough of it and I catch myself humming/singing the hook just randomly. Blessings to these two young men and their careers.

Jam Of The Day: Pyro Traxx "Another 1"

          "Real Hustla's Don't Stop…. Even When They Numba 1"

PYRO TRAXX is setting not only BX on fire but he has Dat Piff blazing with his newly released MixTape Pyrexx. With intricate bars, an array of flows, substance, great self production, and quality tracks Pyro Traxx has created a masterpiece that should definitely be taken seriously.  Released on Halloween Pyrexx is doing big numbers on Dat Piff and SoundCloud and I needed to get this out there ASAP.  "Another 1" is a single off the mixtape and this video can be found on his YouTube Channel but there are for sure many other hits. A few of my favorites from the mixtape are "Halo,"Selfish,"My Bible, and "Ultimate Warrior".

Jam Of The Day: T-Pain

But somewhere along the way, somebody got it twisted. "People felt like I was using it to sound good," says T-Pain, in an interview that will air on All Things Considered. "But I was just using it to sound different.”

After hearing him sing this live on WSHH today I just knew that I needed to post it asap. I have always been a T-Pain fan from his first album to his second "Epiphany" and the third "Thr33 Ringz". Yes, I too was just a little surprised at how amazing his voice is. I myself figured a while back that he had to have a great voice because he harmonized very well. He definitely showed up and showed out in this NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert. I am eager for the next album and a T-Pain features for sure. He SANG… yes SANG…. "Drankin' Patna" but then again he also sang the others as well. With our favorites hits such as "Bartender" and "Up  Down" T-Pain delivered and also showed his great personality through his music and without the music. This video made me oh so happy! I'm thankful to have the ability to watch such great artistry. Enjoy!

Jam Of The Day: Tink "Try Me" Remix

A Chicago Artist That Everyone Should Know and If Not Here I Give You

TINK

I'm from the Chi and of course I love music so I've definitely been following Tink for some time now. Not only can she flow but she can also sing her ass off. She is consistent and always delivers that greatness. A buddy of mine called me today and asked me had I remixed the "Try Me" joint yet in which I replied, "Nah". He then said that I should go check out Tink Remix to "Try Me" cause she killed it. Yes, she definitely did deliver that business per usual. She sang the chorus and laid them verses perfectly. The original song is from artist Dej Loaf who has taken over recently with that joint. Tink did her thang tho.
Enjoy!

Jam Of The Day: Jagged Edge "Me That's Who" *Throwback*

"If it's gonna work in our way, And if it's gonna work in our favor

I'm not to blame, I'm not the enemy. Girl, I'm tryna save us, baby"

As I vibed out this morning with this song on repeat it just took me back to my younger years. I can remember hearing this song and falling in love with the sincerity within the melodic voices. Listening to their album, "Baby Makin' Project",in my then Kia Sephia living on the Northside of Chicago thumping this as loud as I could possibly get it.  Jagged Edge has plenty hits but this one does something to me. Happy Thursday!

Jam Of The Day: Hodgy Beats "Alone"

ALONE

…… Because this is how I feel most of the time.
Yet, I still push forward in faith knowing that more awaits….This jam was surely very suitable for today's melancholy state.

Enjoy!

Jam Of The Day: Trey Songz x Chris Brown "Made Me" (Remix)

"Made Me"

Trey and Chris dominated this project equally as they are both greats. These Virginia natives definitely provided that sexy business and laced this track. The way they tag team within the verse is amazing and very creative. I would like to hear this while out partying soon as this would have the summer jumping. Anyway, I cannot stop listening to this track as I already love the original song by rap artist Snootie Wild. There are a few awesome tracks from this duo mixtape "TRGAxBRZY" by Trey Songz and Chris Brown so check it out.

Jam of the Day: Kirk Franklin and God's Property "The Storm Is Over Now"

" I feel like I can make it, the storm is over now "

This is the song our class sung at our 8th grade graduation and it has forever been stored in my heart. With beautiful melodies and claiming the victory with very word this song can surely uplift you.
Lately, I found myself humming and singing this beautiful tune by Kirk Franklin so I decided to share my energy.

***Life can for sure seem to break you down before it builds you up but the transformation speaks volumes. The goal is to simply find joy in your course through life and give thanks as you persevere. Be blessed.

Jam Of The Day: Tyler The Creator "IFHY"

I hate you…but yet I love you. The thin line! IFHY

Anyone who knows me personally knows that I love Tyler The Creator. For me he is a musical genius but he would have to come after Kanye of course. Artists that are able to direct their own music videos,  produce their own beats, rap on them while ensuring that track has substance, intricate transitions, shock factor, and realness are greats to me. Yes, there are many greats who are able to do the same without producing the track but for me this is a level up from just being a rapper/storyteller.  Not only is this video creative, weird/different, and creates a hell of a visual if you actually listen to the story he is telling its amazing. Tyler then switches up the beat and flow then proceeds to go complete ham at the end. I was in awe the entire time and had to watch it twice just so I could soak in the amazing feeling all over again. He kept my attention from the visual and pleased my ears with the bars. Sighs. Tyler just be my friend already now lol. Enjoy!

Jam Of The Day: Twista featuring Do Or die "Do You"

"23's like Jordan on the Escalade"

This joint took me back to my South Side Chicago living on King Drive days. I use to fall asleep to the radio as a soothing way to ease into my dreams. I remember this track on WGCI and I fell in love with Twista. He is definitely a great when it comes to a lyricist and Do Or Die just finesses the track oh so gracefully.  For some reason this song popped in my head earlier and I had to post it. Hope it vibes you out well too!

Jam Of The Day: Soul For Real "Candy Rain"

Throwback Sunday Jams

"My love, do you ever dream of. Candy Coated Raindrops?
You're the same, my candy rain"

Im taking y'all back to 1994-1995 with this one. Some day I'll be appreciated lol

Lyrics
My love, do you ever dream of
Candy Coated Raindrops?
You're the same, my candy rain

Have you ever loved someone
So much you thought you'd lied?
Giving so much of yourself
It seems the only way

Tell me what you want and I
And I will give it to you
'Cause you are

My love, do you ever dream of
Candy Coated Raindrops?
You're the same, my candy rain

My love, did you ever dream
That it could be so right?
I never thought that I would find
All that I need in life

All I want, all I need, now I know,
I found it in you, I found it in you
'Cause you are

My love, do you ever dream of
Candy Coated Raindrops?
You're the same, my candy rain

My love, do you ever dream of
Candy Coated Raindrops?
You're the same, my candy rain

New Music From Bad Milli: "Starve Mode" ** Snippet**

The Unveiling of A Queen :  BAD M I L L I

As the release of her debut mixtape, "MILLI The Unveiling", approaches she is growing out of that shell and finally speaking her mind beyond just normal conversation. Just a cool young lady that has been through many of the same struggles that many are facing now. Having the ability to thrive in this space where she has lost both parents and tends to turn to her music to release her frustrations. Also sometimes feeling like the lone wolf she unfortunately sticks out like a sore thumb as beautiful freckles invade her face's space. Her mixtape will indeed tell a story and it will offer the listener insight into the pain behind the oh so rare smile. Raised in Chicago she is now based in New York and finding her way through life with music, prayer and meditation. Feeling as if some listeners may get tired of waiting Milli has begun releasing snippets of songs to ensure the listeners that she is definitely working.  Just stick with the chick who just wants to live the rest of her life telling her story and helping others realize that they too can make it through the storm. Blessings to all who read this!

Jam Of The Day: Snootie Wild featuring K Camp "Made Me"

"Shout out to my haters… You my motivator… That's why we be motivated"--- Snootie Wild

So while attempting to go extremely hard at my Insanity DVD Workout this track just so happen to grace my Pandora. I tend to go to my "Migos" Pandora Station for that upbeat party party party music and behold….. "Made Me" came on. Not only did I have to temporarily pause my dvd I had to get myself together as I started dancing around forgetting all about working out. I would consider it a slight workout within the workout actually LOL. Hope it makes you feel the same way! Enjoy

Lyrics-Snippet
I'm a spiffy nigga
Yeah affiliated
Orchestrated with my mob and it's so amazing
Hundred, fifty, twenties, all I see is paper
Smokin' on Jamaica
You get wrong you meet ya maker
Poppin' bottles, shout out to my haters
You my motivator, that's why we be motivated
All this gwualla, all black them Raitors
Running in yo' shit
We ain't gone quit, until we take 'em
(aye aye aye)
Only if you know
Broke no joke (joke)
Coming from the ghetto
Not no mo' (mo')
Always on go mode
Tic tac toe (aye)
Light it up yo' ho
