Battle Mondays: Queen Of The Ring "No Holds Barred" - Jaz The Rapper vs 40 B.A.R.R.S

            Jaz The Rapper

"No I'm not puzzled I don't need Twiz to edit no chokes out. Listen camera man I don't know you but if this b**tch decides to go that choke route and you edit that choke out. It's gone be 9 niggas... long story short nigga you getting choked out"

So after seeing this float across my Instagram Timeline several times I just had to watch the full battle. I am familiar with Jaz The Rapper as she is a Brooklyn native and NY loves her definitely. She has been battling since 2005 and has annihilated many battle imposter's in her Queen Of The Ring battles. Being that I am a lover of rap battles it was imperative that I posted this fire. Hell, I just may began to post all her battles every Monday if this post gets as much love as it deserves. Small in frame but deadly when it comes to spitting real bars with substance that can make any opponent quit... Kinda like 40 B.A.R.R.S did in this battle LOL. Check her out as she also makes good music when not assassinating chicks in battles.

#Respect given where deserved. Peace.

Is Happiness Obtainable????

Are you happy?

Is happiness even obtainable? Or is happiness present but we choose to let our circumstances deter it?

If our circumstances do not determine our level of happiness what does then? When everything is going correctly we easily find fault in anything that apparently does not go the way we planned. So is happiness real or a figment of imagination? I feel the ultimate issue is that we are either selfish or instant gratification is not occurring fast enough. Ultimately, we define our own happiness as we should be grateful for where we are in life because another could have it much worse. In which many are experiencing life's difficulties far beyond that in which we can comprehend. When we start to value and appreciate where we are, where we are going, and the progression we have made happiness will appear. I read this morning that if we just allow ourselves to live our lives without worry, happiness and blessings will find us instead. Often we don’t understand that we are where we are because we haven’t learned to fully appreciate the blessings we already have. Peace.

Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. {wikipedia}

According to ThisEmotionalLife.com :

What does happiness mean to you?

Defining happiness can seem as elusive as achieving it. We want to be happy, and we can say whether we are or not, but can it really be defined, studied and measured? And can we use this learning to become happier?

Psychologists say yes, and that there are good reasons for doing so. Positive psychology is “the scientific study of the strengths and virtues that enable individuals and communities to thrive.” These researchers’ work includes studying strengths, positive emotions, resilience, and happiness. Their argument is that only studying psychological disorders gives us just part of the picture of mental health. We will learn more about well-being by studying our strengths and what makes us happy. The hope is that by better understanding human strengths, we can learn new ways to recover from or prevent disorders, and may even learn to become happier.

Jam Of The Day: Spooky Black aka Lil Spook " Without You "

"Without You"

Being that I find myself on all social media sites for the sake of entertainment, being nosey, tabloids and gathering informative information I found myself watching this video over and over. Thanks to World Star Hip Hop for putting me on to this joint as many do not like WSHH because of the foolishness but if you can patiently decipher through what is awesome and what is pure foolery you can find dope great new up and coming artists. Spooky Black also known as Lil Spook had a video up for his track "Without You" and before I could even leave the page I was mesmerized by his sound and had to download it. Not only does he not look like the type of kid to make such music being that he had a turtle neck on with a lil chain, a doo rag, and was standing in the snow without a coat his melodic sound was amazing.  Since then I have followed him on SoundCloud where he has over 43,000 followers and only 20 tracks but his tracks are getting over 100,000 plays each almost. Another favorite of mine from him is "Reason" which has 132,091 plays and the track has only been up one day. This is an artist that I cannot believe is not signed yet but I'm sure he will be soon. His music for me is a mixture of R&B/Pop/Soul Music and it provides music that everyone can listen to. So whether you only like hip hop, soul, or pop Spooky Black gives you exactly what you need. Image wise he isn't your typical Pop/R&B stud, model, super banger but he is adorable and his music speaks for itself. Neither is he spooky nor black which is the ironic part I am sure there is a significant meaning behind his name and I am eager to read his bio soon in which there is not one available at the time anywhere. (LOL I have been searching) Different and soothing are a great way to describe his music and himself. Many would say he is strange but I find him mesmerizing and soulful.

Remember I put you on lol. Respect, blessings, and longevity to this young man and his career.

Peace.

In My Feelings: As Usual

A Victor Mentality vs A Victim Mentality

The ability to have a VICTOR attitude versus a VICTIM attitude in life is admirable. Throughout our lives we will experience setbacks and struggles but its when you emerge as a warrior that you truly win. We can not allow those circumstances that seem far too unfair to deter us from progression. I tend to look at it as if these are the experiences that we need in order to get to where we are destined to be. Struggles and tribulations build character for sure. This is preparation for what is to come because often there is a lesson or two to be learned on the way. During a Joel Osteen Podcast he said that, “Setbacks are a setup for a greater comeback’. This I truly believe. If we can emerge out of this battle alive, thriving and helping others by sharing that in which we have experienced we are on the right path. The first step is to not allow these setbacks to overwhelm you but to take each as a lesson to be learned for the greater purpose. This greater purpose is within us all. We just have to persevere to obtain such VICTORY.

Kanye Taught Me : Amazing $h!t Kanye Says

"When someone comes up and says something like, ‘I am a god,’ everybody says ‘Who does he think he is?’ I just told you who I thought I was. A god. I just told you. That’s who I think I am,"- Kanye West

"Can't Tell Me Nothing"

Lyrics

I had a dream I can buy my way to heaven
When I awoke, I spent that on a necklace.
I told God I’d be back in a second,
Man it’s so hard not to act reckless.
To whom much is given much is tested.
Get arrested, guess until, they get the message.
I feel the pressure, under more scrutiny,
And what I do? Act more stupidly.
Bought more jewelry, more Louis V, my momma couldn’t get through to me.
The drama, people suing me,
I’m on T.V. talking like it’s just you and me.
I’m just saying how I feel man,
I ain’t one of the Cosby’s I ain’t go to Hill man
I guess the money should’ve changed him,
I guess I should’ve forgot where I came from.

You can thank me later for this greatness LOL. Enjoy!-Milli

Jam Of The Day : Bando Jonez "Sex You"

"All the rain drops falling on my window
Got me wishing that we did the things that we didn’t do
And right now I want to sex you baby
Has anybody sex you lately"
I came across this joint on my Pandora and immediately needed to know his this artist was. Regardless, of the slight provocative nature of the song if you ask me it is the new era of R.Kelly's 12 Play. After learning how he struggled with being homeless and taking care of himself as a young one, due to his parents drug addiction, I knew he had sold me.He started hustling at a young age to provide for himself and often slept in abandoned houses for shelter which I how he came upon the name Bando Jonez(Bando is slang for abandoned house). He is originally from Atlanta and is signed to Polow da Don's label Zone 4 as well as Epic has also picked him up for their label. With his new hit single "Sex You" hitting the Billboard Bubbling Under chart at #45 and even making Billboard's Hot R&B/HipHop Airplay charts I am sure this young man has been stealing the hearts of all the ladies. Also, at least he is honest and upfront about what he wants and that he is only trying to be with that one lady at the moment. LOL.

Enjoy!

Bad Milli Presents: The Unveiling Preview I

The Unveiling of A Queen

"Got me out here in this jungle sipping purple, blowing heavy. Only rational approach up out the Serengeti. Cutting the competition. Bad Milli Machete. Plot thickens when the heart feels heavy. A person with nothing to lose… That's a deadly weapon!"
- Milli

Bad Milli is an artist from the South Side of Chicago that has defeated the odds against her thus far. Being raised in a harsh low income neighborhood surrounded by violence she was still able to focus on her dreams and goals. Being the first to graduate from college in her family she soon realized after obtaining her B.S. in Criminal Justice that her career goals had suddenly changed. Music always played a major part in her life as she began writing rhymes and lyrics at a young age. Music was her only escape as a youngster as she would sing in the choir and dance at the local recreational centers to keep herself busy and surrounded by those that loved music just as much as she. Going to sleep at night with the radio on was her release as it allowed all her thoughts to be replaced with wonderful melodies. Being an only child she learned at an early age how to entertain herself and many of her days were spent writing down other's rhymes as well so that she could recite them verbatim. Reciting Jay Z's verses to "Jigga What" was one of her favorites and this soon led to her trying to be as great as the ones she heard on the radio everyday. Unfortunately, life put this dream of becoming a famous rapper/writer/entertainer on hold as many unfortunate events caused her to ultimately feel as if this was not obtainable. After losing her father to a stroke in 2010 and mother to a heart attack in 2013 she was faced with being in the world alone. At this time it was then when she realized that she needed to get back to writing her music instead of only free styling in the car on her way to work. With nothing left in this world to focus on but herself and her passions she is now residing in NYC and back to creating her music; she feels this is her calling from her creator……

The Unveiling coming soon!

Jam of The Day : Next "Butta Love"

I be jammmmmmin LOL.

I can remember the first time I heard this song and I am sure that I was far too young to actually know what they were talking about. I recently heard it as it stumbled upon my Pandora playlist so I decided to take a trip down memory lane and share this greatness. Enjoy!

You've got the love that I want
The love that I need
Word is bond, it's butta, baby
Check this out

You're like my homie, my shorty, you've shown me so many things
And you're so special to me
We been kickin' it for a while, your sexy smile, Prima Donna style
Ooh, you're drivin' me so wild

Ain't got no reputation, educated conversation
And, ooh, you've got that bomb love makin'
It's more than sexual, this love you know, is proper dough
It's, oh, so, so incredible

You've got the love that I want, the love you want
You've got the love that I need, the love you need
Girl, it's so smooth and so creamy
You've got that butta love, baby

You've got the love that I want, the love you want
You've got the love that I need, the love you need
Girl, it's so smooth and so creamy
You've got that butta love, oh, baby

You've got it goin' on, word is bond, sundress with platforms
Feet pedicure with no corns
You've got that sex appeal, on the real, so sure
Soft hands, French manicure, no makeup, you're so pure

You don't be trippin' when I'm kickin' it s
You don't be questionin' where I been and what I did
You got that confidence, sexiness, thickness, that bomb shit
And I like it ohh

When I'm chillin' with my homies, think about it
I think about you only
You know what I want, you got what I want
You know what it is it's that butta love

All you got to do just hit me on my hip baby
And I will, I will I'll meet you at your crib, baby
'Cause I'll rock your world, I'll rock you, girl
Butta babe, butta babe

Therapy With Carol!!!

Carol is my beautiful young co-worker whom I have decided to volunteer her services as my therapist. She not only gives great advice but she actually listens to you. I should really start paying her lol.
As with many issues that Carol often helps me get through, today this one was not about relationships, friendships, nor hardships of any kind. It was about confidence and self worth.

My observation lately pertained to those that should have a high self esteem and confidence but they actually lack such. I wonder how is it that one can not think that they are amazing, beautiful, capable, and awesome? I use to be one of these individuals.

Having a high self-esteem does not come from attention nor recognition from others. It comes from within and is solely based on how you feel about you. Opinions and criticism are apart of life but they should not cause you to think you should change who you are and conform to what they deem acceptable. Be who you are and embrace that individuality. Like Carol says, “Sé más de lo que otros esperan de ti no por ellos si no por ti mismo.”

“Be More Then What You Are Expected To Be, Not For Others, But For Yourself”

Ponder on that!

Jam Of The Day: Musiq Soulchild "Love"

"Love" by Musiq Soulchild

Love

So many things I've got to tell you
But I'm afraid I don't know how
Cause there's a possibility
You'll look at me differently
Love
Ever since the first moment I spoke your name
From then on I knew that by you being in my life
Things were destined to change cause

Love
So many people use your name in vain
Love
Those have faith in you sometimes go astray
Love
Through all the ups and downs the joy and hurt
Love
For better or worse I still will choose you first

Many days I've longed for you
Wanting you
Hoping for the chance to get to know you
Longing for your kiss
For your touch, your feel, your essence
Many nights I've cried from the things you do
Felt like I could die from the thought of losing you
I know that you're real
With no doubts and no fears
And no questions

Love
So many people use your name in vain
Love
Those have faith in you sometimes go astray
Love
Through all the ups and downs the joy and hurt
Love
For better or worse I still will choose you first

At first you didn't mean that much to me
But now I know that you're all I need
The world looks so brand new to me
Now that I found love
Everyday I live for you
And everything that I do
I do it for you
What I say is how I feel so believe it's true
You got to know I'm true

Love
So many people use your name in vain
Love
Those have faith in you sometimes go astray
Love
Through all the ups and downs the joy and hurt
Love
For better or worse I still will choose you first

In My Feelings As Usual : Is Love Real?

     Is Love Real?

I have been told "I Love You" by many. I can honestly say that I now only believe one of the individuals' that have said those words to me. Those beautiful words of endearment and affection just so happen to come from my mother. When a person is more concerned with your welfare and safety then their own that for me is love. To have the ability to be selfless and put aside your heart's desires to ensure another feels everything that you would like to ; that's what Love is to me. Many of us experience these words coming from those that we think would always be there for us but the reality of life is that everyone dies one day and love alone cannot keep a relationship together. So I ask myself again? Is love real? I would say that love is real because I myself have loved others. I have loved those that definitely did not love me in the capacity in which I deserve. Unaware of the truth behind their false depiction of what we envision love to be from what we actually feel. I replay times in which I have heard these words stumble from one's mouth with what seems like conviction but if they truly loved you then how could they also hurt you? How could they abandon and forget about you as if they never "loved" you? My mother's love for myself and my father are what keep me hopeful that this emotion really does exist. To watch her give up her life to take care of my paralyzed father up until his death is the real commitment behind "til death do us part". That was love. To watch her fight through a battle with cancer and mental illness solely because she did not want to leave me here alone. That was love. The selflessness behind her actions are what taught me that we as humans are capable of loving another. I believe in today's society we confuse "love" with "lust" often because we desire to feel affection from another. Lust is merely instant gratification but love is a feeling that cannot fade because it is buried deep within us. It doesn't cost a thing nor is it given in return for something else as it is merely unconditional and intense.

According to Wikipedia:

Love is a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection ("I love my mother") to pleasure ("I loved that meal"). It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment.[1] It can also be a virtue representing human kindness, compassion, and affection—"the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another".[2] It may also describe compassionate and affectionate actions towards other humans, one's self or animals.

After a search for the opinions of others and even having to put aside my pride and type "Is love real" in Google's search engine I found one very soothing answer to my search from an unknown person.

"Love is needing to take a deep breath with every thought of them because the heart is beating so hard it feels like your breathless. A goofy smile that is hard to remove. A warm entanglement of passion and perfection, weightlessness and tingles. It is the most difficult emotion to describe because the feelings are so intense and so beyond words. There is a fine line between love and lust.. But love is forever. There is no doubt and no second guessing."-Unknown

I still question love's authenticity even after all this. Yet, it should be the genuineness of the individual using " I Love You" that is being questioned.

Kanye Taught Me : Amazing $h!t Kanye Says

"Home"

Hardly home but I'm always reppn

With the amazing metaphor here pertaining to the actual City Of Chicago and describing it as if he were speaking of a female is complete genius. The way he uses his words to vividly give the listener a visual is a gift the Ye has completely mastered. I remember the first time I heard this track and I for sure thought he was speaking of a woman he had met until I realized alot of his comparisons actually made me think of Chicago. Being that I was slightly younger when this joint was released I honestly had to listen a few times so that I could comprehend the lyrics. If you were from Chicago or even just familiar with the city you would have definitely realized that he was speaking of the great "Windy City" and not some lady named "Wendy". lol

He for sure spoke highly of the city and described her "To a T"!

"Home

"Niggas come from out of town I like to show her off
They like to act tough she like to tell em off
And make them straighten up they hat cuz she know they soft
And when I grew up she showed me how to go downtown
And at nighttime her face lit up, so astounding
I told her in my heart is where she’ll always be
She never mess with entertainers ‘cuz they always leave
She said it feel like you walked and drove on me
Knew I was gang affiliated got on TV and told on me
I guess that’s why last winter she got so cold on me
She said Ye, keep makin that platinum and gold for me
But if you really cared for her
Then you would have never hit the airport and followed your dreams
Sometimes I still talk to her
But when I talk to her it always seem like she talkin bout me"

Jam Of The Day: Noco and Vinz "Am I Wrong"

"Am I wrong for thinking out the box from where I stay. Am I wrong for saying that I choose another way"

My first encounter with this joint occurred while floating through my Instagram timeline but I had no clue who the actual artists were at the time. So while browsing the Billboard Hot 100 list I came across this jam. Created from a Norwegian singing/songwriting duo , Nico and Vinz, have created a hit that is #4 on Billboard with 11 weeks on the chart. Not only are they very talented but they are also extremely handsome. *winks*

Enjoy and remember you are never wrong for doing what you deem best for self. Live and live joyously.

Jam Of The Day: Jhene Aiko "For MY Brother"

A very close friend of mine, Vallon, put me on to Jhene a few years ago. Vallon is always one to find fresh new artists with great stories to reveal and talent. After hearing this song I and Valo were sure that Jhene would become a huge star and it looks as if we were right. Jhene has a very melodic and soothing voice as she graces every track with the poise of an angel. So one day she told me to listen to "For My Brother" and as sensitive as I am she should have known I'd cry. I actually cried a few times because I listened to it multiple times. I was so engulfed into the story within the lyrics and her strength that I could not stop pressing the play button once the song had ended. With a song just as beautiful as she, I had become a fan.

In memory of all our loved one's that are no long here with us. May they rest knowing that we are celebrating their lives and forever keeping them alive in our hearts!

Therapy With Carol!!

Carol is my beautiful young co-worker whom I have decided to volunteer her services as my therapist. She not only gives great advice but she actually listens to you. I should really start paying her lol. As with many issues that Carol often helps me get through, today this one was definitely a question we have all asked ourselves.

Is it normal to outgrow friends?

Normally, it is I who direly needs to speak with Carol about my life issues, but this day was different. Carol and I converse daily/weekly about a vast area off topics ranging from work, family to partying and we always seem to leave one another reassured of something. This particular day she wanted to know if it was possible or even normal to outgrow your friends. For me I am able to look at the situation rationally as I literally only have one or two childhood friends and that begins at 6th grade to present. I think people outgrow one another daily as each individual’s path and destinies are different. Some of us will surpass our peers when it comes to family, careers, education and etc. I believe the key is to just accept the changes and instead of growing apart if the friendship is worthy then try to grow together. Friends will marry before others, have children before others, and or become more successful but that is apart of life and evolution. Real friends will respect one’s progression and admire the outcome.

In My Feelings : As Usual

I asked myself today how would I feel if I were no longer here?

Honestly, I don't really know as I am on the fence about life itself. I am well aware that it is a gift but why does it often feel like a curse? My sanity is supported by my love for the Lord and the anticipation to see where I actually end up in this space called life. The road to the light is so dark and the adversities so unbearable that the end must be equivalent to Heaven. The person that emerges from the storm is always the VICTOR. I shall win this battle and I'm eager to show my opposition how I conquer and rule.
They say a set back is always a setup for a greater come back! When one door closes a better always opens and sometimes we just have to be forced into the next chapter of our lives. Remaining stagnant and complacent isn't my kind of thing so I don't get mad when the unplanned plan doesn't work properly. It was not designed to but what my GOD has for me is on its way and no human can take that from me. After speaking with my “therapist” Carol ,who is actually not a licensed therapist, she helped me realize that change is always good. If there were not abrupt changes to be made life would probably become very dull and predictable. I am thriving on the anticipation of peace and happiness and both are already present. Yet I am unable to mentally grasp this.

Jam Of The Day : ScHoolboy Q "Studio"

ScHoolboy Q-Studio featuring BJ The Chicago Kid

About two years ago my buddy Twoz put me on to ScHoolboy Q around the same time that I begin to heavily listen to Tyler the Creator. I was in need of a few new artists to check out that weren't actually mainstream at the time so he suggested that I listen to Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, and ScHoolboy Q. It seems as if once I begin to immerse myself into the Odd Future listening frenzy the other two temporarily faded out of memory. Shortly after having this convo with him Kendrick begin to take over the game and Tyler was doing what he does best; beating the odds. Then one day while listening to Hot 97 one day I heard Peter Rosenberg speaking highly of this guy called ScHoolboy Q. I actually had been humming to a song that was playing on the radio and had no clue that was him. For me, Rosenberg knows great Hip Hop when he hears it as he is old school and those were the best emcees back then. They were discussing ScHoolboy Q's newly released album Oxymoron and I vowed to ensure that I'd listen to more of his music. Plus, Tyler would have me ready to fight the world and after the Kendrick "Control" verse I knew he had already won in the music industry. I needed something more mellow, relaxing, yet something that I could still "turn up" to as people would say. Being that I am an artist myself I know how the studio makes me feel personally. Not only is it therapeutic, enticing, and personable.... Once you're in the zone you're are in a zone. Feel me! LOL. Enjoy.
